What is situating tool?
Situating tools is a system that allows the user to situate in the environment where it involves a context and the occurrence of the situation. Situating tool generates 3-D images and gives the user the feeling of being situated in the virtual environment. Examples of such systems include simulation, virtual reality and multi-user domain. Through computers, we can locate lots of simulations and games which can enhance learning.
So, as a teacher even if we do not have sophisticated situating tools, we can use simulations. Simulations can be used to teach any subject, however, I personally feel that it is mostly used to teach science as it has more features related to science. Another good example of situating tool is 'Virtual reality' extension system. Through this system, the computer can create 3-D images on display to give the students the feeling that is situated in the virtual environment.
